Thanks to the wonders of the internet we live in a world where the sheer volume of information available to us can be overwhelming. Our field of digital marketing also has its own dangers. The number of emails I receive from would-be 'industry experts' each day is frightening (particularly when I read some of their suggestions), and it’s hard to know where to find genuinely useful insights. The rate of innovation in digital marketing is exciting, but also provides its own pressures. No one likes to feel as though they are missing out on the next big thing and prioritising one's time and effort is an on-going challenge.

With our Periscopix events we aim to highlight new features, important themes, and on-going strategic developments that we feel are important and, critically, that will have a big impact on all of us with an interest in digital marketing. We bring together some of the leading thinkers from Google and the wider community to discuss these topics and get some key insights into the issues that are going to be keeping us busy in the coming months.

When designing the content for events we aim to cover themes that reflect the breadth of our client base and the varied nature of their businesses. We are also keen to not just jump on the latest digital bandwagon; events will often cover very fresh content but we want to ensure that our discussions also provide lasting value for everyone that attends.

The focus of our last event was mobile. We felt that the mobile landscape had evolved to a point where it was critical that mobile moved up the agenda for all of our clients, so used the event to explain the value that we see mobile has for everyone’s businesses. A key consideration at the event was when mobile becomes critical for your business; the challenge being that early engagers might incur heavy prototyping costs but latecomers could have missed the boat. We are delighted by the number of clients that now have a strong mobile proposition, fully segmented campaigns, and have been rewarded by the commercial performance.

For those who were unable to attend this event, you can watch full videos of all the talks on the Periscopix YouTube channel.

Our upcoming event will focus on social and website conversions with talks from Google’s heads of both GDN and agency. Their unique market-wide insight will be invaluable when discussing the integration of remarketing and social into paid search activity and the implications it has for all of us. Our own heads of PPC and analytics will then discuss how clean and well segmented data is vital in this context (and a good idea in general, really), with a strong focus on onsite conversions.

The event will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday 6th November.
