We spotted a new Google+ extension format today for AdWords ads.

While browsing around today one of our fantastic account managers John spotted this new format for AdWords social extensions.

It looks like Google are showing localised extensions if they think they know where the user is. We're in London, so this extension showed us the number of users in London.

But this only shows sometimes. A search later showed the normal extensions:

Maybe this is what we're going to start to see more of, but the numbers here look strange.

H&M have nearly 3 million followers on Google+ at this count and nearly 3.4 million +1s, but only 77 of those are in London? It doesn't pass the plausibility test for us.

Maybe it needs a bit more work before they roll it out further.
