“Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary.”

Dead Poets Society

Marija grew up in Serbia’s capital city, Belgrade, which is different from London in many ways, not least the fact that in Belgrade they study a staggering 15 different subjects in high school, including English and French. When Marija wasn’t delving into this smorgasbord of academia, she was trying her hand at a wide variety of sports. These included taekwondo, athletics, rhythmic gymnastics and both classical and jazz ballet which she practiced for five years. If this wasn’t enough, Marija also managed to find the time to play piano to both a national and international standard, having played the instrument since she was just six years old.

In Marija’s own words, finding herself in London in 2012 was “a bit of a surprise” as she had originally been planning on going to Vienna, before she arrived here to study at King’s College London and then at Imperial for her masters. Marija studied Business Management and Marketing for her undergraduate degree and masters respectively, having been drawn to the way that the subjects were both analytical and creative at the same time. Naturally this made the world of digital marketing a perfect fit and when she heard about the rich company culture here at Periscopix it almost sounded too good to be true.

Although Marija still travels back to Serbia regularly, she now feels settled in London, despite the weather, and believes that the world of data-driven marketing would be too hard to leave (well, that and Pops her French Bulldog that is).
