“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”

Mahatma Ghandi

James was born in Edgware and was raised in small town on the edge of London, Elstree & Borehamwood. He grew up with one younger sister, although perhaps wasn’t always the most sensible guiding influence – once breaking her arm by kicking a football she was standing on. It’s okay though, she got the blame for it.

Ever since this incident, James has been a lover of all things football (or maybe the two are unrelated – who knows?). He is unfortunately a supporter of Newcastle United, so doesn’t have too much fun watching the beautiful game from the stands. He makes up for the disappointment with success on the pitch himself, playing both in a Sunday league team (for Highgate) and in a 6-a-side league after work once a week. James has also spent time as a football coach, enjoying spending time passing on his sporting talents to the community.

Possibly inspired by his hometown, famously the home of Indiana Jones and Star Wars, James first went to university to study film, but soon realised that his true passions lay elsewhere. Since leaving, he spent some time working for a small marketing company, and loved it so much he ended up going back to university to study advertising! Not long after, he was working within the advertising industry working at both Omnicom then GroupM before making the move from client side to Merkle|Periscopix where he works as a Senior Account Manager – an enthusiastic and valued member of the Programmatic team.
