Despite being gluten, dairy, and refined-sugar free, Issy is absolutely obsessed with food. She prides herself on her various food mash-ups: hummus with sausages, dates dipped in almond butter, chickpea flour poppadoms dipped in dairy-free pesto, and black bean chocolate cake for dessert.

Issy grew up in rural Surrey, although on occasion she tries to up her street cred by saying she grew up in Croydon - “it’s only 15 minutes away”, she claims. She describes herself as that annoying loud kid in school who distracted everyone else by doing S Club 7 dance routines while they were quietly reading, so it’s unsurprising that she went on to study Drama at the University of East Anglia. She somehow managed to incorporate her food obsession into her dissertation by writing and staging a play called…wait for it….”Food: The Musical”. A tale of a love triangle between a steak, an apple and a carrot, it was described as “a bit weird” and “quite funny, but also weird” by those who were lucky enough to witness it.

After graduating, Issy worked for a year in Oil & Gas, but felt that it wasn’t really the industry for her. Then one night, after having eaten a whole pot of peanut butter, she started Googling HR/recruitment roles in companies that seemed better suited to her personality. When she came across Periscopix she instantly felt that it was a company that genuinely cares about its employees and promotes a good work-life balance.

Issy is the person to see about hummus (just don’t ask her about “hummus amateurs”), irrational fears and Disney soundtracks.
