“Every man should pull a boat over a mountain once in his life.”

Werner Herzog

Dan, a Bolton boy born and bred, went to school with Gandalf. Or at least went to the same school Gandalf went to. He’s not like 80 or whatever (although he does admit his knees are not what they used to be).

While Gandalf spent his time post-secondary school learning to become a wizard, Dan was more likely to be found listening to seminal glam rock band of the 70s “Wizzard”. Indeed, still to this day, Dan reminisces fondly about his school based four piece Spanish guitar glam cover ensemble “Mago” (that’s Spanish for Wizzard). It was much more successful than his Lord of The Rings themed punk band Wizz-Hard.

After school Dan headed straight to university in Nottingham, where he studied Economics and German. Part of this degree involved a 13 month sojourn to Frankfurt – where he discovered how much the Germans are currently winning at longform coach travel. Reclining seats, free Wi-Fi, plush leather. He has pretty much ruined himself for megabus. The only downside was the bizarre prevalence of businessmen with often not 1 but 2 concurrent Bluetooth headsets. He quickly learned that they are more scared of you then you are of them. And that their vision is based on movement. If you don’t move, they can’t see you (the last one also applies for T-Rexs. The first, unfortunately, doesn’t).

As a PPC account manager Dan now uses his pure Gandalfian magic on his clients' search campaigns, with a spoonful of cool German efficiency, giving his accounts the best of both worlds!
