Growing up, Charlie always knew he was destined for the bright lights of the business world when he realised the other kids' bedtime reading did not include the Financial Times or Economist. Whilst never a sporting star, Charlie’s trophy cabinet does boast an award for being the "most enthusiastic" member of his under 13s football team. A feat he remains proud of to this day.
After falling in love with creative and humanities-based subjects at school, Charlie bizarrely decided to change direction, going on to study International Business at the University of Sheffield. He proudly informs us that Sheffield is the "ale capital of the world". However, £2 pints and bassline nights did not stop an enthusiastic Charlie from balancing studies with student jobs in restaurants and marketing offices.
Ready for another challenge, Charlie set off for Amsterdam where he spent a year studying Economics and Strategic Marketing. Here he fell in love with Amsterdam’s mercantile history, cultural richness, and two-wheeled lifestyle.
On his return, he made the big move to London. Here he found the perfect fit in Merkle’s people-based, data-driven environment.
