Born and bred in Kent, Alex attended an all-boys Grammar School where he described himself as an ‘average all-rounder’ when it came to his sporting accomplishments; trying his hand at football, rugby, boxing and judo alongside studying Sociology, Economics and History.
Leaving village life behind, Alex decided to find himself by voyaging on a ‘Gap Yah’. Beginning in Australia he worked for 9 months in various B2B and B2C Sales and Marketing jobs, before moving onto South East Asia. A notable highlight of the trip was visiting an authentic Thai massage parlour run exclusively by ex-convicts.
After a year of charming people into buying insurance and meditating, Alex returned to the UK to achieve a 1st Class Degree in Sociology from the University of Manchester. Whilst studying here, he discovered his passion for understanding the mysteries of Social Media, undertaking modules such as ‘Secrets, Lies and Mass Deception’. Writing his dissertation on how people construct their identities on social media was the stepping stone that led him here to Merkle | Periscopix where he now is an invaluable member of the Paid Social team.
