If there’s one thing you need to know about Aaron, it’s that he’s not one to shy away from a challenge. At birth, the doctor decreed that he would never be able to compete in any physical activity. In defiance of the laws of nature/Dr Jürgen, Aaron has been a star defender every season since he was 7 years old. Alas, his pursuit of the beautiful game hasn’t come without sacrifice: following an elbow to the cornea, Aaron can no longer cry from the afflicted eye. He admits that this may be a blessing in disguise as a devoted Newcastle United fan.
Beyond football, Aaron finds his joie de vivre in tropical fish (keeping, not eating we hope) and all things business. His love affair (his words) with fish began at a young age, with Aaron often finding himself transfixed by the watery pirouettes of his grandfather’s collection. Nowadays his own shoal keeps him entertained – no small feat in his home town of Rainham, Kent. His introduction to the world of business followed a similar trajectory, though in this instance he was enchanted by Sir Alan Sugar and/or his hit TV show, The Apprentice. Aaron set his ambitions as high as his idol’s, landing him a spot at the national finals of the Young Enterprise Scheme.
Spurred on by his early wins, and no doubt the support of his fish, Aaron decided to do his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies (with Project and Operation Management) at the University of Bournemouth. Any mention of Bournemouth to Aaron now brings on a wistful and starry-eyed gaze to the horizon as he reclines back into his chair. He won’t tell us what happened in those halcyon days, other than lots of revision on the beach. We can only assume this to be the full extent of his academic exploits. “It’s always sunny in Bournemouth…”, he murmurs softly.
Fortunately, not even the beach could quell his yearn for business. In his sandwich year at university, Aaron found himself working at a digital consultancy in the role of Project Management & Research Analyst. It’s there that he discovered his love of digital media – and we’re glad he did! Now an asset to the Programmatic team here at M|PX, Aaron says he loves coming to work every day to a fresh challenge. With no two days the same, Aaron relishes the opportunity to constantly better both himself and his accounts. If only Dr Jürgen could see him now.
