Single Line Ads on Google
We spotted last week that Google Instant was causing AdWords ads to be reformatted, displaying more than 35 characters in the first description line, and wrapping over 3 lines (and sometimes 2 lines for the headline) when the browser window is resized. Well, now we have single line ads appearing in the search results!
With one word on the second line, the first ad doesn’t look great. Maybe Shopzilla should improve their ad text? But in the next ad there isn’t even a second line! The word “Bargains!” has been moved onto the first line, making that 37 characters, and leaving nothing on the second line. The problem here is that a smaller ad doesn’t stand out as much, but this is something that SupaPrice will learn…
Again, this only happens with Google Instant.
