Huge changes to Google AdWords UK trademark policies
04th August 2010 Posted in Search
Now hear this, at 10.30am today Google will announce that the UK will be moving in line with Google USA’s trademark policies.
This means from the 14th of September advertisers in the UK & Ireland will be able to use trademarked terms in ad copy, as long as that advertiser sells relevant products/services on their site.
This is significant news for resellers and a blow to some brands that protect their trademarked terms like the family jewels.
Whichever side you fall on, it means big changes for the UK search market place.
Stay tuned for more on this.
