Google Hot Trends

Google today announced an expansion of their hot trends feature.
For those who aren’t familiar with Google Hot Trends, it is simply a homepage that shows you the rising searches for the day, i.e. what is being searched on a lot that people weren’t interested in yesterday. You can find a link to it at Google Hot Trends.
But now there is a new section (available only in the US and Japan at first, but rolling out to the rest of the world soon). This new section isn’t immediately accessible, but if you are searching on a term that is one of today’s top 100 then in your search results page you’ll get a little snippet at the bottom telling you a bit about the search’s history and how popular it has been in the past hour.
I don’t know the reason why vortex portable mixers had a massive boost at 11pm PDT, maybe a hot tv commercial or a late-night infomercial slot. Whatever the reason, people suddenly started Googling it like crazy. Whether they’re buying it is another matter.
Try a few searches (without cheating using hot trends) in the US Google and see if you can spot one of these new little graphs. If you do, pop it in the comments - props for the best search term anybody can get one of these for.
